Kawasaki is planning to launch the Versys 650 dual-purpose touring motorcycle in India next month, according to recent reports.
Once launched, the Kawasaki Versys 650 is expected to be priced around the Rs 5.5 lakh mark.
Aesthetically, the Versys 650 is similar to its larger sibling, the Versys 1000 with its adventure tourer styling. The bikes comes equipped with dual headlamps, height adjustable windscreen, large 21-litre fuel tank, LED taillight and also has features like suspension with generous travel and ABS.
The Versys 650 is powered by the same powerplant as the Ninja 650, but in a different state of tune, for relaxed, highway cruising. The parallel-twin, 649cc engine makes 69PS of power and 63.7Nm of peak torque.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 will be welcomed by the touring crowd in India. Pricing will be key, and if Kawasaki can get that right, the Versys 650 could well be that all-in-one bike many enthusiasts have been looking for.
